The Glaser Hitec 5/8″ Oval Bowl Gouge is one of our most popular tools and a favorite among woodturners for demanding bowl turning operations.

This massive gouge delivers exceptional performance thanks to its carefully engineered flute geometry, proper mass, and outstanding stability. Jerry Glaser invested considerable time and research developing a tool that provides strength, balance, and precise cutting control during even the most demanding turning procedures.

Each flute is precision ground on advanced CNC grinding machines, then hardened and cryogenically tempered—a process Jerry Glaser has used since 1995. The tool is further enhanced with our proprietary Surface Compacting Technology, which refines the steel surface and produces a micro-burr structure that improves cutting performance.

The tool arrives sharpened so it can be used immediately, while still allowing the turner to refine the grind to their preferred profile over time.
