This massive gouge delivers exceptional performance thanks to its carefully engineered flute geometry, proper mass, and outstanding stability. Jerry Glaser invested significant time and research developing a tool designed to provide strength, balance, and precise cutting control during the most demanding turning procedures.

Each flute is precision ground on advanced CNC grinding machines, then hardened and cryogenically tempered—a process Jerry Glaser has used since 1995. The tool is further enhanced with our proprietary Surface Compacting Technology, which refines the steel surface and produces a micro-burr structure that improves cutting performance at the edge.

The tool arrives sharpened so it can be used immediately, while still allowing the turner to refine the grind to their preferred profile over time.
