About 33mm Screw Chuck
This patented design features a hardened medical-grade stainless steel screw mounted in an anodized aluminum body. The screw uses a specially ground thin, non-tapered thread that penetrates wood cleanly while minimizing damage to the workpiece.
The Glaser Screw Chuck comes standard with a reversible 3½″ faceplate, which screws over the chuck body to provide additional support. Optional 4½″ and 5½″ faceplates are also available for mounting larger workpieces.
For facework or centerwork, simply drill a ¼″ hole in the stock and thread it onto the chuck. The screw grips securely—even in end grain—allowing workpieces to be mounted quickly and removed just as easily. This speed and reliability have made the Glaser Screw Chuck especially popular with production turners.
Workpieces removed from the lathe can be accurately remounted without loss of alignment. The Glaser Screw Chuck is also ideal for mounting jam chucks and other wooden faceplates.
