A great scraper begins with the quality and thickness of the steel. Glaser Hitec scrapers are massively built using 3/8″ thick CPM 10V steel, providing outstanding rigidity and resistance to vibration during demanding turning operations.

Each scraper is secured into the handle using a proprietary aircraft-grade aluminum adapter, which firmly anchors the tool while providing a strong and stable connection for added safety and durability.

Manufactured using CPM 10V powder metallurgy steel, the tool offers exceptional wear resistance and long edge life. This advanced steel is atomized and compacted to create a highly uniform structure with excellent dimensional stability.

To further enhance performance, the tools undergo Jerry Glaser’s proprietary cryogenic treatment process, used since 1995, which improves durability and edge retention.

The tool arrives sharpened so it can be used immediately, while still allowing the turner to refine the grind to their preferred profile over time.
